THE FISHERMAN ( BM886 )
painting on 30"x30" canvas ( n/a )
In this art piece, the fisherman symbolizes the hunting instinct in men and the fish
symbolizes every attainable token of wealth in life. The creature is seen gathering
fish and the expression is joy and achievement. The mood is not of resistance by the
fish but almost of a yielding. It's almost as though the fish (material wealth) seem to
take pleasure in the joy they bring to the hunter. In other words, all material wealth
available to each man is for the taking; if the hunter is willing and determined enough,
it can all be his. As man, we are all able to achieve goals. There is no limit to how
much we can acquire. The question is, how much do we want and how hard are we willing
to attain that wealth?
